Federal ID numbers are required for all businesses, regardless of size or organizational structure. Your clients will need their Federal ID in order to pay employment taxes for their employees. Download form*.
Forms I-9 for all employees should be maintained in one, centralized file apart from the general personnel file folder in the event of an audit to maintain confidentiality. Download form*.
Your clients' employees must submit a signed W-4 to indicate their federal income tax withholding allowances. If a W-4 is not submitted, your clients must withhold taxes at the highest possible rate. Download form*.
Your client must file a W-5 with the IRS for each employee who is eligible for the Earned Income Credit on their federal tax returns. Download form*.
